I’m Innocent
I got home today just licking my chops to get my Tauren warrior to level 29. But guess what. Blizzard suspended my account. The notice was as follows below.
I would not feel so bad if I was caught cheating. The bad thing about this though is that I don’t even have the technical expertise to exploit or manipulate the client or server. I use add-ons, but they were obtained from trusted sites. I used WowMatrix for the Mac to download and update my addons.
My assessment is that there might have been some other program running in the background at the same time I was playing wow that set off the security system called Warden.
1. Growl was waiting to be downloaded for the computer. This is a Mac application. I don’t know what the heck this program does.
2. I was using some paladin blessing add-on and a warlock add-on (Necronomicon). I was also using auctioneer.
3. I was downloading the patch for the Wrath of the Lich King also. The interesting thing is that my computer would stop after 85MB. I had all the shutdown and powersaving turned off. But, download was still interrupted.
4. Finally, one other odd thing was that I had a notice that my password was changed. I am hoping that this was the cause and that someone hijacked my account. May whoever hacked my account suffer the unpleasantness of never tasting good food ever in their life.
My search in the internet showed that having a peer-to-peer network can cause Blizzard to cancel your account. For the life of me, I don’t know what a network does.
So, if anyone from Blizzard is reading this, check my holdings in Wow. I don’t have enough gold to be cheating. I get auctions of small eggs to sell for 2 gold. That is how I make money. I have pains in my fingers and wrists for smashing the keyboard. Well, I do have the Nostromo pad.
Personally speaking, I don’t like this suspension thing one bit. Blizzard does not allow people to call them. They ask for e-mails. It’s a good thing it’s not alterac valley weekend, or I would really be pissed off.
The letter is as follows:
